I just made myself really dizzy making LB some chicken nuggets for lunch. Here is how you too can achieve this....

1. Turn on oven

2. Bake frozen chicken nuggets for amount of time on package.

3. When nuggets are done, take them out of oven and serve.

4. Turn off oven and leave door open a crack, as if to broil.

5. Stand in front of oven, so as to not waste valuable heat emitting.

6. It's so colorful. I have missed this. I had one growing up, and so I wanted my kids to have one. They have changed a little bit, as in size and portability. But the original concept is still the same. And with technology so advanced now, I thought surely there would be some free downloadable and printable sheets. I only found a few free samples. Sadly, I have to charge it if I want some. Sheesh! Guess they gotta make their money somehow. I know, "be creative, do your own". This is about how creative I am. A smiley face. Oh we'll, at least it's happy. :)

Melanie Welaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03162406004526276732noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8558379184471299105.post-18365224807858577192013-04-02T08:35:00.001-04:002013-04-02T08:36:48.360-04:00Wha?
Seriously, who doesn't use up every single drop of frosting with a toaster strudel? You know, didn't want to bog you all down with my drivel. Yeah, that sounds good. Anywhoooo.....

Since I have posted last we have had our goings on here in the Fodder household. My lack of blog motivation has come and gone. Many times I have had that "I should blog this" thought. And like the past few months, it has passed by all too quickly for me to stop and consider actually doing the posts.

A few of the big things we have had going on are.... BB got his driver's license (Egad!), he is now a junior in HS (Egad!), and LB has started the HS portion of his school career as a freshman (Egad, again!). All kinds of things to worry about. Yay me.

The whole driver's license issue.... I hate it when things happen to you as a parent and you realize how much stress your parents went through when you did this. First of all, no one at age 16 worries about how the car insurance will be paid. Hello people... 16 year old boy! Do the math! Then the whole studying for the test, practicing the stupid cones, being in the passenger seat while he is practicing. And hearing how the first ride in his own vehicle was so peaceful cause, "mom wasn't nagging me all the time." You read that last quote in the snarky sarcastic voice right? Yeah, that's how it sounded to me coming out of his mouth. But now he can drive to school instead of taking the bus. (Yet another stresser for me. But I digress...)

BB is actually enjoying school this year which is a total 180 of what we have experienced this whole time he has ever been in school. He is going to our local tech school for the hands-on learning of EMT/Firefighter. I have seen his books and cannot believe he actually still loves this class. Seriously, there are 2 books each about 3 inches thick not including the workbooks that go along with them. Usually when he has started a new school year, I think to myself "ok, so I am learning _____ this year". Only because I try to help him with his homework during the year and have to try to learn it to help him learn it. So naturally I think, "ok, I am learning how to save lives this year." It figures that a subject that would be invaluable to me will be the class he may not need my help for. Not like last year when I had to learn biology. A subject that I never even took in HS. So I guess I will just feel good with the fact that I will have a "lifesaver" in my household soon. That's a good thing!

LB on the other hand is having a difficult time starting this year. Usually he craves going back to school. Not sure if he is doing that this time. To a typical kid, the first year in HS is usually the most stressiest. (I know, not a word. It is in my world so deal with it) But add that stress onto a kid with autism and woohoo, get ready to party! His main goal this year is independence. He definitely needs to learn it. Let's face it, a kid with his needs gets help all around him, so learning to do things on his own and making his own judgements for his needs will take some time and tears. And like a band-aid removal, this year will hurt. But the next few years after will hopefully heal up and leave no scar. No promises on Mom though. ~sigh~

I'm sure that there are many other moments I have needed to blog about in my absence. I will post them as soon as I can put these recent stressers behind me. Hmmm.... you may not ever hear about our summer then, huh? Um, it was hot. I didn't put up a garden this year. And we had more of a staycation this summer. There. That about does it. Small details will follow..... maybe.....

Time to try and relax a bit before they get home from school. If I can just stop my brain from thinking!

:)

Haven't seen this in a while. Probably since a Christmas ago. Maybe two. Anywhoo....
LB wanted to make some sno-cones, so yes of course! We will make sno-cones.

They turned out good as usual. Just as I remember them when I was a kid. Doing all that cranking for a little bit of sno . . . .
Hey wait a minute. We could have saved some hard work!

There's still some left on the trampoline!
Aw man!

Good game! Good food! Good commercials! As we sit here and watch the post-game interviews, it makes me wonder why they even interview the losing team. They always ask stupid questions. "So what happened out there?" "Could you improve anything?" Seriously, did they just not watch the game there? Why ask these stupid questions? "Obviously the other team won, could you please add some more salt to my wound?" I just don't get that.
Really liked the half-time show. Thought it was much better than last year. As a girl that grew up in the 80's, gotta love Madonna. Followed her alot thru my life. And hello?! How is she in such great shape? Awesome!
Speaking of being in great shape.... I am so NOT! Especially after all the good food I spread out for us. Ribs, sliders, buffalo drumstix, chips, dips, and dessert too! ugh, I'll be working this meal off for a while. It's gonna be a rough workout tomorrow at the gym. I can feel it now.
Now the commercials were pretty good. It's funny how I can be out in the kitchen cleaning up something or refilling the chip bowl and when I hear that the commercials start coming on, I RUN into the living room to see what's next. Not when the game comes back on, but when the commercials start. This is the ONLY time I ever look forward to commercials. Ever since the invention of the DVR, I have been so spoiled. Usually I fast forward thru all that stuff just to get to my show. But companies really put alot on the line for this time slot. They do well. And I have to admit, I have been lured one too many times with the power of commercials. Which reminds me, I need to get some Coke tomorrow. Darn those fluffy polar bears!!
So a good evening was had by all! Hope you all had a good one as well.

I did not make my quota of double digit posts. And I don't see me making any more in the next couple of days. There have been so many things happening this year, you would think that I would have posted more. But so many of the things that have happened this year have been not-so-great ones. As I look back at this year, I see all of the health issues, employment issues, and deaths that have affected a lot of my family and friends. Granted, there were some good things too. I can't say it was all bad. I just haven't felt the "blog bug" as a result. Obviously. So my last post for the year 2011 will be this short one. I hope and pray that all of you out there have a good 2012. Let's all ring in a better year ahead.
:)Melanie Welaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03162406004526276732noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8558379184471299105.post-54337547626408315362011-12-04T20:23:00.001-05:002011-12-04T20:37:24.175-05:00Well then......So yeah, November came and went and I totally missed posting for the whole month. Yeah, that's just how I roll. I suppose if I want to reach that goal of posting in the double digits by the end of the year, I could just post something small every day. Hmmmm. . . . Not a bad idea. ;)
Well, we had a great Thanksgiving. The whole family was over. Huge dinner. Football in the background. Fire in the fireplace. Oh yeah. . . . I would have posted pictures of course if I had taken some. "If" being the operative word there. But instead you'll have to settle for the picture I just created in your head there in the first few sentences.
Now that December is here, we (meaning I) am/are starting to decorate for Christmas. Haven't gotten the tree out yet. Just a few sprigs of greenery, a nice bright red tablecloth, a few knick-knacks here and there. I am trying to get into this slowly. Not like all the stores out there who totally ran right through Thanksgiving like it didn't even exist. I hate that. Why make the whole stressful shopping experience last longer than we need to. Can we just stop and enjoy Fall for a moment? I love Fall. It seems that it's the only season that doesn't last long enough. My pumpkin on my porch was finally added to the compost pile yesterday. YESTERDAY! Ya see folks? You CAN make it all the way through the month of November without advertising the next holiday prematurely. It all worked out. Everything is good. It's OK.
So I guess that was where I have been. Not posting on my blog. Just enjoying the season of Fall. Yeah . . . . that's it.

When we bring home the pumpkins, I usually just put them out on the porch. Sometimes we carve them and sometimes we don't. It just depends on what the kids feel like doing year by year.
This year LB decided he wanted to carve his. So I rolled out the newspapers and we went to it. I tried to let him do most of it and he did well. I had to help him on some of the cutting. But he did the scooping and the drawing for the face. I wondered how the "texture issue" would fare. He did just fine, I am happy to say. Here are the pictures I captured.

BB passed his permit test this past weekend. So yes it's official! He was so excited, he was doing cartwheels in the parking lot. Sorry I didn't get any photos of that moment. After church we decided to take him out to an empty parking lot to get the feel of the car. And the feel is that my brakes work well! heehee We will be having some fun with practice time. He likes it of course, but hasn't gotten into that "hey, mom don't you need something at the store?" every five minutes mode yet. That's just fine with me. We all need to take baby steps in life, right? Or maybe this is that whole "letting go" mode I haven't gotten into yet. Oh well, 6 in one hand . . . . .

Some of you know that I have been trying to follow The FLYlady. Well, I have been kind of like a baby bird trying to stay off the ground. There under all the junk is my Control Journal. Obviously covered by chaos. Then I thought a minute. Is this an example of my life? Good intentions covered in chaos. Hmmmmm............. time to re-evaluate my self. {sigh}: /Melanie Welaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03162406004526276732noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8558379184471299105.post-13524825227889443472011-09-16T13:34:00.002-04:002011-09-16T13:37:34.304-04:00Free Stuff!!Yay! I went to the archive section of the page and saw that there were 2 posts for THE ENTIRE YEAR OF 2011!!!! WHAT?! THAT CAN'T BE!! I'M SO ASHAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMED!!

How awful am I to be known as a blogger? I don't feel worthy! I need an intervention. So I am going to get moving on this so I can get more posts on here to at least go into the double digits in the archives before the year is up.

(saying this in a struggling super hero voice) MUST......BLOG......GOT TO......BLOG..... MUST......REACH.......CREATIVITY......GOT TO .........ESCAPE......WRITER'S.......BLOCK........

yeah, kinda like this...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 202px; height: 316px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9Wat9v1bfI1wFuZ973K5aSdAZgrg6ywUukQdE4CPY8YWhOsL_ksRRGrVnR7VOQ6O1Y2srKWbqIYJq-uDVFCFEZ3t3qMl1hIxG-PtxxJ_t_7yxvq6Qry-BJudS-3VdwNMdqjPZ9ISM7j0/s320/Amazingspiderman39.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649379412009334514" />

Honestly though, things have happened in our lives here and I have had material, just not the 'oomph' to write it down. So I now endeavor to 'oomph' it up a bit.

See you all soon!

:) Melanie Welaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03162406004526276732noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8558379184471299105.post-90469241800521525092011-07-20T16:19:00.001-04:002011-07-20T16:22:03.799-04:00Updating :)Just blurbing a little to let you all know that I really really really really am still here.
