Thanks Mom of DDG...

for opening up childhood wounds. I got this card in the mail today. There is a story behind this of course. Long long ago when I was just a Sesame Street lovin' tyke, the whole family was at G-ma and G-pa's house for Thanksgiving dinner one year. We all piled into the kitchen to take a look at what was brewing in the oven. G-ma opened up the door and someone had made a comment, "Wow, that's a big bird!". I reportedly started to freak out and yell "Big Bird?!"
Now, I don't really remember this moment. Auntie S told me about this years later. I guess my brain made me forget and suppress this horrific memory. So thank you Mom of DDG for putting salt in my wound. Mmmmm....salt. Yeah, it just needs a little bit of that. :)

Sorry. I couldn't resist. I remembered you telling me about that Thanksgiving. There was another one that fit you and I had it in my hand. Then I saw this one. It had to be sent.

But isn't opening old wounds part of family holidays?
