The countdown begins

Well, Hubby and I plus our good friends Mom of DDG and Dumbledork are getting ready to go out and ring in the new year at the "local Las Vegas". (Not really Las Vegas) Hubby and I took some ballroom dance classes a couple years back and have been looking for opportunites to try out our skills ever since. We haven't come across too many yet so we are a little rusty. Hopefully with the help of YouTube and MonkeySee we can refresh our feet memory.
We are supposed to have some real fancy shmancy food too. Things I can't pronounce. This will be a first time to try caviar and something called profiteroles. Yeah, I'm that classy of a person.
Then we can dance the night away and play some of the slots in the casino. I hope we win! Last time me and Hubby went to Atlantic City, we won $30 in the quarter slots. Just enough money for a souvenier t-shirt! You know, it may be a little funny wearing my nice evening dress and small classy handbag weighed down with quarters. I'll be sportin' that gambler look!
Then I suppose when the party is over, we will have to come back to our house to do a little Guitar Hero dueling. It has been a while since we've played! Well, for me and Mom of DDG together that is. I played a bit when our relatives were over here after Christmas. Yeah, and I have succeeded in making another group of Guitar Hero converts by the way. You're welcome, C family!
Well, I had better look up some of those dance moves we need to work on. And I guess if we don't get it right, we will make it fun anyway with all of the pointing and laughing.
Hope you all have a great New Year's eve and day!!

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!

Yep! We joined the rest of the game system world. I actually bought the Wii before the "cabbage patch craze-like fury" hit the stores. And yes, me and hubby had gotten it out a couple times to play with while the kids were in school. I was SO sore the next day after playing with this thing. I should be in great shape in 2009!! Oh yeah, the kids do like it too.

Puppy liked her present too. She was so excited! She was wagging and wiggling all over with the wrapping paper all around. She may have showed more enthusiasm with her gift than the kids! Silly pup!

So we all did well and had a great day!! Hope you all did too.

Missing something?

Bling

So how is everyone doing with their Christmas shopping? Missing anything from your wallets? Like, oh, I don't know.....money? heehee
Ah yes, tis the season to forego the bills and spend, spend, spend for all of your loved ones. Then hope for mercy from the utility companies to waive the late fees because, "Hey, it's the holidays".
I think this year we are all trying our best to conserve with the whole recession thingy. Sometimes it doesn't help to find that the cost of things are higher anyway. So we end up spending just as much, but bringing home less from the stores. We have done pretty well so far for the kids' this year. I would tell you all what we got but then if certain little eyeballs see this post then I will be in a bit of trouble. Just a few more days and I can reveal. But I can tell you...those of you who DO know what it is already know this...we have tried it out first to give it a trial run and we have come to the conclusion that we approve. That's all I'm saying.
I suppose I'm not the only one running around trying to get all the things done that need to be done for this one day. Multiple trips to the grocery store, making sure to have enough to eat for everyone. This year I have decided to do something different. We are definitely sick of turkey from Thanksgiving and we will have our fill of ham. So I am going to be bold this year and make lasagne. Never have done that before. Why not?
Well, I hope you all get your shopping done and save a little too this year. I gotta go make out my grocery list. I'll be spending more tomorrow.

Decorating the tree

Thank you, thank you very much!

Yeah, I'm so interested.

Whew! That was alot of work.

Gotta have a nice fire going.

Our finished product. A little blurry because all the other lights were off. We had just the lights of the tree and the light of the fire. Mmmm...So cozy.

Now where's the presents?!

Thanks Mom of DDG...

for opening up childhood wounds. I got this card in the mail today. There is a story behind this of course. Long long ago when I was just a Sesame Street lovin' tyke, the whole family was at G-ma and G-pa's house for Thanksgiving dinner one year. We all piled into the kitchen to take a look at what was brewing in the oven. G-ma opened up the door and someone had made a comment, "Wow, that's a big bird!". I reportedly started to freak out and yell "Big Bird?!"
Now, I don't really remember this moment. Auntie S told me about this years later. I guess my brain made me forget and suppress this horrific memory. So thank you Mom of DDG for putting salt in my wound. Mmmmm....salt. Yeah, it just needs a little bit of that. :)

We've been Rick Rolled!

Anybody else do the traditional watching of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade? I have to put it on every year. And what do we get this year?

Didn't need to resort to this...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wishing you a fun-filled day with family, friends, football, and FOOD!

Here is where you can find some turkey fun for the kids.

School's out!

Yes, the kids are officially on Thanksgiving break. They don't have to go back till next Wed. I believe that the "hunting season open" has something to do with that timing. Since it is so important around here. heehee
BB will get a chance to go hunting..er...observing this year with Sharp as a Marble, provided his sweet bundle of joy makes her debut in a timely manner. You never know. She may be the girl that comes early to appease daddy. Or she may be the girl that says, "Uh uh, Daddy, you wait on ME." Either way she is most anticipated. We all can't wait to welcome her in.

Hope everyone got a chance to tune in and watch Charlie Brown tonight. We did. Well, I did. Our kids just aren't as excited as we used to be when these "specials" came on. Of course, they do have a lot more to choose from nowadays. Remember how special it was to see a cartoon in the evening? Uh-oh did I just date myself again? Oh well, gotta love the good old days!
Got an email from Auntie S and she brought up a good point about the show. I've wondered this myself too. What's up with Woodstock partaking in the Thanksgiving feast? Isn't that a little "ew-y"? Yeah. I agree, and yet I cannot turn away.

Well, our turkey is in the fridge doing its "thaw" thing. Still seems a little frosty. Hope it will be ready for me Thur. morning. It doesn't matter how early I start thawing. It always makes me nervous like a countdown or something. And I keep running the menu over and over in my head to make sure I have everything. It's things like this that make me start dreaming those anxiety dreams. Like when you are late to class because you get lost in school. Or you can't find your locker or don't have your books. Gee, can you tell I wasn't crazy about school? I seem to have quite a few of those dreams. breathe....
I really shouldn't feel like that though. This year we are the "drop-in house". The 3:00 house. So we will have fixin's ready then, for whoever drops by. So there won't be a huge crowd or anything. Although I do love it when we have everyone here together. And the kids love it too. But this year we will be chilling quietly with turkey smell in the house and with some football in the background. I LOVE Thanksgiving!

Christmas?

The view from my front porch

And the view from my back porch

Well this week we will be seeing alot of this stuff. I'm sure Mom of DDG is having a good laugh right now. But so am I! Yes, it is THIS snowy and the kids are IN school, thank you very much.

While LB and I were waiting for his bus this morning, he looked at me, pointed to the yard and said "Christmas!"

It sure would be nice to see this Christmas morning.

Thanksgiving Lunch

Today LB's class made the parents a thanksgiving lunch. They had all sorts of good stuff to eat. Well, LB didn't think so. Except for the cupcakes. Yeah, that was the majority of his lunch and it is what he is eating in the picture. He picked out corn and a roll and a cupcake. They also had a turkey/stuffing casserole, garlic mashed potatoes, and a sweet potato casserole that tasted like pumpkin pie. I am not a sweet potato eater normally, but this was really good. I thought it all was good. Kudos to the class and teachers for pulling this meal off. Everything was real nice.

Brrrrr!

Yep, it's snow! Yeah, It's Ohio. And yes, I know I chose to live here.

I was just getting used to having the nice fall weather too. I have been mulching leaves for quite some time now. Since we have this beautiful, huge oak tree in our front yard, we have alot of leaves to deal with. This year I have been a bit more prepared. And the neighbors must be kicking their heels. Our neighbors are very "yard conscious". Usually when one mower is heard, the next one is not too far off. It's like a domino effect. When one person mows, then we all should follow accordingly. I am usually a follower of many things. Yardwork isn't one of them. I am getting better. Or rather, forced to get better. The pressure!
The past 2 years have showed me the error of my ways. The whole rule on "slow and steady wins the race". This year I am the tortoise. I actually got the mower out every few days to mulch up the falling leaves and I believe the neighbors have had less "ditch-burning" this time around. See, I am used to the city. When we lived in VA, there were no open fires allowed, so we raked. When we got here, not only did we rake, but we raked up after a much bigger tree. The first year I tackled it, we must have had 20 bags of leaves. The big-sized bags. Plus the neighbors burned them in the ditches and taught me about open fires. The flames went so high in the ditch in front of my house, that it melted my newspaper box and killed a bush that was in the way. Our paper person replaced the box, not asking what happened. How embarrassing.
Since that incident, I haven't attempted ditch-burning again. Who knows what I could catch on fire. I'm just not that confident yet. So I just ran the leaves over with the mower. The lesser of the two evils. Nevertheless, I must say I am proud of myself for preparing this time. And riding on the mower instead of raking? Forget about it! No sore muscles the next day. What was I thinking in years past? Learned my lesson, for sure!
So this morning we woke up to snow. On the trampoline, the cars, the rooftops. Nothing really on the ground, but still, snow. We are supposed to be in the high 30's to low 50's this week with a little more snow coming this weekend. Guess we better batten down the hatches. Soon we will be sledding and the kids will be enjoying snow days.
The kids are doing well in school by the way. I am happy to say that their report cards were very good. BB has improved incredibly. We were worried a bit with the interim reports. But by the time the report cards came out, he had brought everything up. Now he is getting rich. We are giving him monetary rewards for the great grades. Whoever said bribery was a bad thing, was just nuts. Works for us! LB is doing well in his new class. He has a field trip coming up this week. They will be going to the grocery store to get supplies for their Thanksgiving lunch the next day. The kids will be preparing the meal, setting the tables, making the placemats and decorating for the parents to come in for lunch. LB's classroom has a kitchen area for the kids to learn life skills. Very nice.
Well, I guess I better get going. The snow has gotten me in the mood to get some shopping done. I am going to go out and try to shop for the kids. Sorry, can't tell you what I am looking for. BB reads the blog too. Sorry BB, gotta wait till Christmas. Have a good day, all. And if you are experiencing some of this snow like us, then snuggle in and keep warm. :)

And were back...

Well, I am back from my little weekend away and I must say I am feeling a bit arthritic. :)
We had our share of battles. I won a couple, Mom of DDG won a few. Ok, she won alot more than me because my level was on hard and hers was on medium. There, I said it. I wasn't going to be catty or anything. But well, you know, I have to let it be known that really I don't suck that bad. I keep saying if they only had a "medium and a half" level, it would be perfect. That jump from medium to hard is, well, hard.

But cattiness aside, we had a great time. We got to play our games, shop, eat. All those fun, slightly immature, things that we don't do too often anymore being wives and moms and all. Now I am back into the reality of things. Getting kids off to school again, errands, cooking, and finally letting the neighborhood have their block party since I cut the grass, at last.

So, I guess I should go do that dinner/cooking thing that is always a joy everyday. But first, I think I will take some ibuprofen for my wrists. I have to heal up fast so I can get back to practicing for next time.

GH Fest!!

It's moms weekend out! Me and Mom of Dippy, Dingy, and Goofy, are going on an out of town trip and we are gonna rock out with Guitar Hero!! No kids running in and saying "Can I play a song?" or "I want to watch a movie." or the ever-popular "Mom, can I have my playstation back, please?" Honestly, some people.

Time for the moms to go out and have some fun. Hubby's are getting some nice kid-bonding time this weekend. They'll be ready for us to come home, I think. heehee

Have a good weekend! I am pretty sure we will. :)

What's up with that?

Do you see what LB is eating? Do you notice what is on the table in front of him? Yes, freshly baked, homemade, hot, melty, chocolate chip cookies with a big glass of milk. When I called the boys out to the kitchen for my -proudly being the best mommy- cookies I just got out of the oven, LB points to the pantry and asks for "Chips?".

Honestly, WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

Hooray for flushing!!

That's all I'm saying about that.

Yes, we are back in our own house with electric and running water. We went to stay with Hubby and family for a while until we could get back to our routine. It was a nice visit. The kiddos had a good time being refugees. LB was happy to go home as long as the TV was working. BB missed a couple wrestling shows because the DVR didn't record. But just like Days of our Lives, he got right back on track watching the next one that played this week. So we are all back into the groove.

It was kinda funny camping out in our own house. I totally feel for those still without power and water. I guess there are still a few in our area. And who knows how many down south who are still struggling. Lord, help us all!

So the kids had a whole week with no school. I don't think they minded. School was closed Mon-Wed and I took them out of town Thur and Fri, so they got another extra vaca. I hope the school didn't decide to do any major grading projects in those last couple of days. I hate playing catch-up with my (yes, MY) schoolwork. I only claim it because it's true. When kids go to school, so do the parents.

Well, today I will be playing catch-up on more fun things like laundry and cleaning. And of course, unpacking. I will also be thanking the good Lord above for those flushing toilets all the while I am scrubbing them. It's the little things, you know?

One quick last post for a while...

Well, here I sit with just a few minutes left on my computer battery. We have had no power or water since Sunday night at around 7pm. So I will not be on here too much till things get back in order. The power company gives a time range of any time from now till Friday to when it should come back on. On the news, they are saying maybe this time next week. Who knows! So I will be packing up the kiddos and taking off for a while. The school doesn't have power either so the kids can't go anyway. Hopefully, we can get it straight soon. Call me crazy, but I like to flush and shower. Silly me!

Later taters!

Success!

It was a good first day for LB. We saw the room last night and we liked it. So I decided to keep the song playing the praises for good news all around. His teacher sounds very nice and very experienced. We will have to get together soon to let her in on all of the LB-isms that he has.
Hubby and I got alot done today. Our living room TV finally kicked it yesterday so we got to go on a new TV search today without interuption. It's in and ready for movie night.
BB had a good day today in school and he gets to watch his DVR'ed RAW and ECW on the new TV.
So an all in all good day! Hope we can keep this mood going!

Guess what tomorrow is?

Yes, it has been a long awaited day for LB. But at last, the day has come. The first day of school will be tomorrow. We got the call today about the final inspection. Everything is up and running and ready to go. Hubby and I can finally go out to breakfast at our favorite little local coffee shop down the road. We have been missing it for some time.
We plan on going to the school's open house tonight and taking a peek at the room. I have been hearing that it is wonderful. I certainly hope it is for waiting this long.
So don't bother trying to get ahold of me tomorrow. Hubby and I will be out of the house most of the day enjoying what WE like and there will be no stops at McDonald's or any other fast food joint. No rides on the train at the mall. And no stopping by the air-soft gun section of the sports stores. No siree! Just pure (semi) adult fun. Nice to be back in the groove!

Sunday, September 7, 2008

MMMMMMMMM....

Today we went to the grocery store. Yes, we got junk food. LB decided he wanted the BIG bag of M&M mini's. (Seems like a contradiction in there somewhere) Anyway, as soon as we came home he proceeded to eat them in his own way. Why I have never thought of this before is beyond me. It's genious!

The Yellow Bus of Salvation...

As I was on my daily blog check, I came across this article on "The Imperfect Parent". What? You? Imperfect? Surely you jest! That's what you were thinking, right? Anywho, I thought this was a cute article to pass along to those parents out there who also enjoy the first day of school. And don't worry, Grandma. The whole happy dance and/or cartwheels on the front lawn is not a reflection of dislike to the kids. We still love them dearly and wouldn't trade them for the world. (don't cry) :)

Something cute to wake up to...

School week #2

Well, school is going well for BB so far. He doesn't detest it yet. He is adjusting to the amount of class changing this year. This is the first year where you not only change every class, but your whole class doesn't go with you. So he is becoming more socially noticed by everyone else in the school. Not just the same kids everywhere. He says that it makes the day go by fast because of all the changing. He has 7 periods now instead of last years' 4. This means that there are more notebooks and stuff to carry along with him. Thank goodness for the sales with the nickel-priced notebooks! I just hope that we can keep all of this organized all year long! It is always fun to see at the end of the year, assignments that were due stuffed into folders and binder pockets all mashed up and hidden. No wonder his grades weren't what I expected. hmmmm....
It also has been week #2 for LB. Week #2 of NO school still. I just realized today that we never see any parents around here who put up a real fight. It seems like everyone is easy-going and just goes along with the ride. Whatever is put in there path, they accept and keep moving. This just wouldn't fly in our previous home area. When we were in the northern VA area, there were so many schools afraid of being sued for not protecting the rights of the child and/or parents. There were advocate groups willing to go and fight tooth and nail for services. And irate parents battling the school systems. I don't know how many copies of "parental rights" we got over the years. They could have saved many a forest if they didn't give them out at every single IEP (Individual Education Plan/Program) meeting. Anyway, I know Mom of DDG, I shouldn't have moved. I just need to rant a bit.
I called the admin office today to see how progress is going and was told they would have to call me back. Hope I hear something soon. I'll keep you all posted when I'm posted. LB hasn't been weepy anymore like the first day. But I know he needs to get out there and be social and learn a few things. The letter the board sent me said that "due to circumstances beyond the control of the district...". I just caught that today. Hopefully it really isn't the schools fault then and maybe the construction company was causing all the delay. We shall see. Anyway, it sure would be nice to go to the store without being coerced into extra purchases. Oh, and a shower during the daytime? Oh heaven! Being able to vacuum without any complaints. Nice. Going to the mall! Good grief! C'mon school! It's not fair-ah!

The fun begins...

Yes, the old boring summer is over and now the FUN! Is that wrong of me to say?

Well, I've been up since the crack of black to get BB ready for the first day. He was not at all thrilled. Remember this one actually LIKES to sleep until noon or so. So to start his wake-up call at 6:15AM is quite a change. You know how they say, you grow when you sleep? Well, this summer he has had quite a growth spurt! I'm surprised that he hasn't reached the 6 ft. tall mark. Unfortunately, for LB (and I am not just saying that for me), this was not his first day of school. He was a little weepy when BB was getting ready to go. I think he actually wants to go too. BB told him "Yeah, LB I wish it was the other way around too!" LB won't be able to go to school for about another week. This year our middle school has finally decided to start up a high school class level for special ed. to be held there with the middle school level. The kids used to have to take the bus and go pretty far to another school and I am guessing the gas prices had something to do with their decision to keep things local. Don't quote me. So what they are doing is using an old room that is large already, and dividing it between middle and high school. Well, since they really don't get back in the rooms to prepare until the last minute before school starts, the rooms are not ready yet. So we were informed that the first day of school for the special ed. kids will not be today. Hopefully things will be worked out soon. It makes me a little nervous when I hear they are not prepared and this is the first year of middle school for LB. I am just hoping there is a good reason for the delay and everything will work out smoothly. Lord willing!

Well, after BB got on his bus and took off, LB started dancing to the theme of WordGirl on PBS. Which reminds me a little of the music that Pulp Fiction would have used. Only, kid-friendly. So I think he will be OK for while, staying at home...with me...going to the grocery store...convincing me to buy more junk food...for yet another week. Yeah, I'll be fine.

Soon, Prince, your day will come.

Vacation #2

We went to Huron, Ohio for our second vacation this year with Sharp as a Marble and family. It was a great time! We stayed with them in a nice little cottage 1 block away from Lake Erie. And not too far from Cedar Point. Some of our good times were spent sitting on the nice screened-in front porch just relaxing and enjoying the lovely weather. Other times were spent at the lake. And of course one of those days was at Cedar Point. It was nice to go somewhere to not think about anything or rush around trying to see everything possible. This time we don't need a vacation from our vacation. We just enjoyed it! Here are some of our pics from the cottage and Lake Erie.

I'm back!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. We have been on our second vacation of the summer and just got back today. I did take my computer but we were in an area without good signals, so I just figured I would catch everyone up when we got back. I still have to get all my pictures and things straight so I will have to post those tomorrow. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience!

What's for breakfast?

Ok, Mom of Dippy, Dingy, & Goofy would be so proud of me. I was listening to XM Kids the other day and heard a funny song. I just happened to find it on You Tube! They have everything. Anyway, so I asked the kids what they wanted for breakfast, and they said "toast". It reminded me of the song I heard. I just stood there and cracked up. This is why:

Can't touch this either

Got an email from Auntie S about the Father's Day commercials that were out this year. I started cracking up when she told me of this one. I saw it too and loved it. I even saved it on the DVR to show hubby when he got home. This one's for you Auntie!

Teen Latin

Or in our case - Pre-teen Latin.

Why is it that when kids get a certain age, everything they say has a sound at the end to indicate attitude? I discovered this a little while back and thought I would share. Maybe you have noticed this as well. Did WE ever have this language? I don't remember responding that way. Maybe my mom can clarify. BB started a while ago with answering questions.

Me: "Why didn't you clean your room like I asked?"

BB: "I don't know-AH!"

Me: "Clean your room."

BB: "Why-AH?"

And so on it goes. Now LB has started to do this. He doesn't say much, but when he hurts himself-or thinks he hurt himself-he is starting to yell "Hurt my toe-AH!". It used to be just "Hurt my toe!" Is he copying his brother or is he just growing into this language that develops with age? I will have to keep a close ear on this.

Is there a special pill or cream out there that can curb these outbreaks? I guess maybe it goes away with time, like an allergy or something. It's a mystery. Maybe there could be a special scientific experiment on this. We could pinpoint the cause and stop it before it develops. Wow, we could have attitude-free children. What would that be like? It could be a kind of Ozzie and Harriet world. hmmm.... I guess that sounds a little boring, huh?

Well since I have been sitting here I realize that it is lunchtime, so I have to go feed the kids now. And I have to go do some laundry-AH. And I don't know why-AH. How come I always get stuck with this-AH?! It's not fair-AH!!

Just curious...

The B's and I just went to the store recently. While I was loading up the groceries in the back, the boys got in the car. I went to take the shopping cart back to the corral and got a glance at my car door that was hanging open. I noticed some of my CD's in the door there and thought to myself, "Gee if someone were to steal my CD collection (and they would have to be pretty darn desparate for tunes), I would be soooooooooo embarrassed!!" My embarrassing collection includes: -The soundtrack to the Amadeus movie, -Clannad, -En Vouge, -Pure Disco, -Club MTV Party to go, -The Kim Possible soundtrack...these are choices that I made for myself at one time. Yes, I picked out Kim Possible. These are bad enough by themselves, but put them together with the other CD's that I am not so embarrassed about would be quite confusing for the thief. I love all types of music (obviously) and my entire collection (with the family's) would raise some questions as to how many people are actually IN this family. I had to laugh at myself! So I was wondering if any of you out there have an embarrassing collection you would not want people to go through. Or am I the only nerd out there?

Today's "Holy crap!" moment

Sharp as a Marble sent this to me today. I proceeded to tell him that I should just hang up my guitar. I don't think I could ever get this good! Unless of course I practice the entire time the kids are in school. And then if I do that, then, there would be no clean clothes to wear or clean dishes to eat off of, if in fact we have food in the house...you get where I'm going.

Ready, set, quilt!

Want to quilt with me? Starting in September, when the kids go back to school and I have more ME time, I will be starting up a quilt block-of-the month. Over in the Links I Like section is another blog just for quilting stuff enititled "Mel's Quilting Spot". I will have a pattern to follow for a different quilt block each month on that page. Since the kids are in school typically from September through May, that gives us 9 months, or 9 blocks. It should make for a nice wall hanging or lap quilt by the time school is out. This will be a challenge to see if I actually get a quilt finished in time. I usually need a deadline or some other encouragement to get me going. I have alot of UFO's or (UnFinished Objects) in my quilting area. This would be good to get me to follow through with some. I will also be posting pictures of mine and anyone else's who wish to send in so we can all see our progress. Hope this will be fun for all you quilters out there. Gee, that means we all have to go buy some more fabric. Oh darn, what ever shall we do? So get all your stuff ready for the school year and see what creations we can come up with!!

Can't touch this

Me and the B's were just out at the store a while ago. Just out for lunch and to buy a few items. Everytime I get out of the car I have to make sure LB isn't running out into the street or parking lot. Because he still tries to do that sometimes. Can't wait till that thing kicks in that says "be careful of the moving cars!" So I am always saying "OK, STOP". So we come out of the store, up to the curb, "OK, STOP!" and BB says "Hammer time!" So it brought back some memories of those days with the high waisted pants and low crotch. What were they thinking? Let us all think back now....

Moving day!

No, we aren't literally moving as in houses, but blog templates. Trying out another one. It's kinda plain so who knows how long this one will last. Gee, maybe we will have a flavor of the week going on. At least Hubby will be happy that I am not changing the living room around again. I can just get all my furniture moving moods out right here. heehee Off we go!

National Museum of the Marine Corps

We stopped at the Marine Corps Museum on the way back from VA beach and I thought it was very nice. I recommend the visit! There was so much to see. BB loved it of course, and now can't decide whether or not to go into the Army or Marines now. In the last picture he is standing by his favorite gun. There were alot of those in there, and tanks, and planes and soldiers and war scenes. So much in there I couldn't post all of the pictures. If you are ever in the area of Quantico, VA, I suggest stopping by. Well worth it.

More vacation pics...

Ok, I finally got all of my pictures on my computer. Here are some of the pictures from our dolphin watching cruise. If you look closely, you can see a couple of fins. With these wonderful digital cameras we have now, they take a moment before actually snapping a picture. So by the time it had taken, the dolphins were back in the water. We did see some tail slapping and a little jumping. I'm just not a dolphin mind reader so I couldn't predict when to take the picture. We also saw a lovely sunset that I just kept taking pictures of. You see, the sun is a little slower so as to accomodate the delay in this great technology. Enjoy!
